Display Your Inbox Instead Of The Today Page When Opening Windows Live Hotmail

0

livehotmaillogo.pngHelp! Every time I open my Hotmail mailbox, the annoying Hotmail Today page is displayed instead of my inbox. I have Internet Explorer 7 set up (under home page settings) to automatically open two tabs…one to CNN and the other to my hotmail account. I don't need another page displaying more news information. How can I force Hotmail to just display my inbox after log on?

Actually, this is pretty easy to change in the Hotmail Option settings, so your inbox and it's messages are display instead of the Today page (as long as Microsoft stops changing the interface layout every so often!).

  • Log on to your Hotmail mailbox using your Windows Live account. Once you have access to your mailbox, click on the pull down arrow next to Options (right hand side under Sign Out link)

  • Then select More options… link at bottom of list.
  • In the Options menu, scroll down to the Customize your mail section, and click on the Today page settings link…

  • …and click on the radio button next to Skip the Today page and take me straight to my inbox . Then click the Save button to save the setting.

To go back to your Inbox, click on the Go to inbox link in the upper right corner of the screen.

Now the next time you log on to your Hotmail mailbox, you will auotmatically skip the Today page and be taken directly to your inbox. If you do want to see the Today page, just click on the Today button on the left navigation menu (under Inbox and your folders).
