Digital Inspiration Blog is reporting that Yahoo! is about to release version 1.0 of Yahoo!7 Alpha. The new search service, which is currently online and in beta, will allow you to create a personalized search engine homepage using an easy to use drag-n-drop interface.
What is unique about this platform, Yahoo! Alpha shows search results from various Yahoo! or third-party services such as Wikipedia, Flickr, YouTube on the same page. In addition to showing other search engine portals results, you can also create your own search modules as long as the search results are available in the form of RSS feeds.
Yahoo! Alpha interface is very familiar to Google, but the search results provides a fresh look and more control with search results by providing arrows that expand on the right side (as shown above with Flickr) and paging through the returned search results. You can test drive the beta version now at Yahoo!7 Alpha.
