You may heard or even notice, but it looks like Google new feature called Plus Box is showing up in search results with greater frequency. Google Plus Box can be seen when searching for a Business, and when it is expanded, displays a map or financial data.
For a Business this is a great feature as searchers will now have information available immediately with out the need for additional searches.
An example of the Plus Box can be seen when I searched for Yahoo as shown in the results below after I expanded the plus sign:
Yahoo stock information is displayed with a graph that can be clicked, which will take you to Google Finance site where further information on the company can be found.
For a smaller Business, with a random search for Redstone American Grill, after expanding the plus sign reveals a map (with address and phone number), and when clicked on, takes you to Google Maps.
This can be great exposure for your Business with searchers trying to locate your Business as it provides immediate results. To get included in the Plus Box feature, add your Business location information using Google's Local Business Center.
Other uses seen in the past with the Plus Box feature has been with searches that tie to using video clips. Although I was not successful in finding any, it's clear now why Google purchased YouTube last year. This feature has great potential and will keep Google on top until either the competition catches up, or Google pulls another feature from it's bag of innovation tricks.
