My password does not seem to be an MD5 hash. It starts with P$B$ and consists of a string, rather than a set of hex characters. Any ideas?

There is an easier way to do this. MySQL (and PHPMyAdmin) have MD5 encryption built in. Simply type in your new password into the 'password' field and select md5 in the select box next to it. Hit submit and your password will be changed.

Awesome tutorial, it did the trick. I've never logged in to PHPadmin before, and without your walkthrough I would have been lost. I usually create my own password, but I used "Simple Scripts" this time which auto-generated a password, so if you don't save it right then you're out of luck. Thanks again.

I can't gt it to work! I have tried going through BluChip Hosting and it looks simmilar to your page, but not exactly. How can set up an account to connect to CPanel and work with it so I can get on my blog again?

Well…since I just tested the steps again (on WP 2.5.1) I know it works.

Another option you can try is go to your WP site admin logon page and click on the link (at bottom) 'Lost your password?'

If you don't remember the email account, use the same steps as above and look for the email address just below where you found the encrypted password.

I'm still got "wrong password" with that steps above
